NATWORK project is funded by Horizon Europe - 6G SNS, SERI and UKRI. More specifically, the SNS JU funds projects that shape a solid research and innovation roadmap and deployment agenda by engaging a critical mass of European stakeholders and facilitating international cooperation on various 6G initiatives. Regarding NATWORK, the main objective is to develop a novel AI-leveraged self-adaptive security mechanism for 6G networks based on resilient biomimicry principles. The 15 partners have uninterrupted engagement with NATWORK actions contributing in an effective way. As the project enters the 3rd year, the current activities are now focusing on setting up the four pilot sites and validating the Use Cases of NATWORK. In the current newsletter, the latest Dissemination & Communication operations for NATWORK project are displayed.

NATWORK 5th Plenary Meeting in Zurich, Switzerald

The 5th Plenary meeting for NATWORK Project was held on the 3rd and 4th of December in Zurich, Switzerland. Gürkan Gür and Wissem Soussi from ZHAW hosted the plenary meeting. During the two-day event the status of the technical parts of NATWORK were thoroughly examined. Discussions on the upcoming activities in the areas of Anti-Jamming technologies and IoT security were also performed. All 15 partners were present at the two-day event. We are anticipating the next physical meeting!

Digitalization & Connectivity: Techritory 2025, Riga, Latvia

Last October NATWORK project was present in the Digitalization & Connectivity: Techritory 2025, an event that held in Riga, Latvia. The event assessed the advancement of future technologies through collaborative innovation. Industry leaders, academic pioneers, policymakers, and innovators discuss ideas for secure digital infrastructure in Europe. During the event, NATWORK Project was showcased, depicting the security for future 6G networks. Antonios Lalas presented the current status and next advancements of the project. The Workshop on Cybersecurity & Resilience was organised by pNET. Congratulations! We are waiting for the next NATWORK engagement.

NATWORK in AIOTI Days, 2025

AIOTI Days, 2025, event was held last September in Madrid. The event examined the 5G and 6G projects that are redefining the future of digital infrastructure, innovation, and intelligent systems through a forward-looking session. It addressed the ideas of networking and AI that are closely connected, including the following concepts:

  • Cutting-edge 5G/6G initiatives across Europe,
  • How ultra-fast, low-latency networks enable AI, IoT & XR,
  • Key challenges and policy considerations,
  • Future impact on industries, cities, and citizens.

Hackathon at the IEEE NFV-SDN 2025

Last November the first Hackathon at the NFV-SDN 2025 took place in Athens, Greece from the 6G SUNRISE project! This explicit workshop was successfully completed. It brought together testbed owners, developers, researchers, and technical experts from across Europe and explored collaborative opportunities and contributed to the development of federated 6G experimentation infrastructures. The workshop was part of the NFV-SDN 2025 Conference that was held between the 10 and 12 of November last year. NATWORK participated in and got the3rd place among the contenders. Virgilios Passas from Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) was present in the event!

NATWORK’s publications

Several additional publications were submitted in the second half of 2025. This research examines the long-term outlook of NATWORK. The central theme for these papers was about the cybersecurity concepts of NATWORK project that has as a main goal to develop an AI-leveraged self-adaptive security mechanism for 6G networks. The project advances the technological and architectural underpinnings required for next-generation networks by introducing novel concepts and strategies that emphasize robustness, privacy, and trustworthiness. In the last 6 months, additional 5 publications were published. In total 34 (single and joint) NAWORK publications are present.

NATWORK’s press releases and white papers

An additional method to discuss the activities and results of NATWORK is through targeted press releases and white papers. These published announcements increase NATWORK perception. By allowing a wider audience to know what NATWORK presents, the results of the project can be used in supplementary practices. In this period, an additional white paper by ZHAW is available, highlighting the NATWORK techniques that protect networks, computer systems, and data by constantly changing the attack surface.
